As you've probably already figured out, my name is Winona. I am an International Studies major from Allegheny College who's currently involved in just seeing where life will take me.
You can usually find me somewhere in western Pennsylvania either camped out in a dorm room or escaping on my kayak or skis (weather depending). I spend 10% of my time at college learning foreign languages and another 80% butchering or crying about my workload in said languages. So far I've muttered phrases in English, German, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Thai, Hebrew, and Bahasa Indonesia, although I only claim to have speaking abilities in 3 languages total.
I spent my summer of 2013 teaching English through Santisuk English School in Bangkok, Thailand - so feel free to scroll through my past posts and laugh at a lot of my (mis)adventures in Thailand!
I was extremely lucky to go back to Southeast Asia in summer 2014 to work for Dian Interfidei, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I interned though America's Unofficial Ambassadors, and you can check out their blog which occasionally featured posts from myself here if you're interested.
Also, I'm studying abroad in Jerusalem for the Fall semester- so check back in for plenty of updates in the future!
If you have any questions about my blog, travels, or myself feel free to reach out and contact me at my E-mail address: vaitekunasw@allegheny.edu. Otherwise- enjoy my blog!
